Tenmoku glaze is a traditional and distinctive glaze known for its smooth, refined surface, typically in shades between black and brown.
When high-fired, metal oxides in the glaze may crystallize, creating unpredictable patterns and luster.
Introduced to Japan, this technique became highly valued in the tea ceremony,
-
with "Tenmoku chawan" prized especially by monks and nobles.
-
This small petal-shaped condiment dish is safe for use in both microwave and oven.
