Tenmoku glaze is a traditional and unique glaze, smooth and refined, typically appearing between black and brown.
During high firing, metallic oxides may crystallize, creating ever-changing patterns and luster.
Introduced to Japan, it became revered as the “Tenmoku Chawan,” cherished by monks and nobility.
The refined spirit of ancient literati elevated Tenmoku into an art of great diversity.
With dedication and care, we recreate its mysterious dark beauty, allowing tradition to shine anew.
The gaiwan is a traditional Chinese teacup with lid and saucer, allowing you to sip tea directly.
Both the gaiwan and saucer feature a small notch in the foot ring to prevent movement from steam.
