Tung trees form buds in March, and by April, they cover Taiwan’s mid to low-altitude areas. In May, their white flowers bloom across the hills like falling snow, earning the name “May Snow.”
Besides being beautiful, tung oil is used for paint and printing ink; the bark makes glue; the fruit shells contain activated carbon; and the roots, leaves, flowers, and fruit have medicinal uses.
The tung flower creates diverse value, blooming proudly every spring, no matter the place.
